In 1992 I was given a gift of a bundle (about a pound) of Korean Rocambole. This was from a good friend of mine who's parents had just come from Korea to America. Having never experienced the joy of quality garlic I was so taken with this gift that I saved 2 heads and planted them. This was my first experience with growing garlic and in fact this is what led me into becoming a farmer. The years went by and I kept replanting the harvest. The crop eventually grew to a point where I had enough to start selling. The garlic was received with such enthusiasm that I kept increasing the crop until at its peak we had a crop of just over 4,000 lbs. Since those days we have reduced our crop size of garlic in favor of diversification, on the farm, and we also have had years of producing crops of many other varieties of garlic. Garlic of all sizes, colors, shapes and eating qualities. Through all the experimentation, though we have always come home to just a few varieties that work out very well for us here at Jones Creek Farms. Always the top choice of them all has
been the Korean Rocambole.
